Thirty spokes are joined together in a wheel,
but it is the center hole
that allows the wheel to function. We mold clay into a pot,
but it is the emptiness inside
that makes the vessel useful. We fashion wood for a house,
but it is the emptiness inside
that makes it livable. We work with the substantial,
but the emptiness is what we use.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 49
The Master has no mind of her own.
She understands the mind of the people.
To those who are good she treats as good.
To those who aren’t good she also treats as good.
This is how she attains true goodness.
She trusts people who are trustworthy.
She also trusts people who aren’t trustworthy.
This is how she gains true trust.
The Master’s mind is shut off from the world.
Only for the sake of the people does she muddle her mind.
They look to her in anticipation.
Yet she treats them all as her children.
Tzu, L. (2010). Tao Te Ching. (J. H. McDonald, Trans.) London, England: Arcturus.

When there is no more separation between ‘this’ and ‘that’, it is called the still-point of the Tao. At the still point in the center of the circle one can see the infinite in all things. - Chuang-tzu

She who is centered in the Tao can go where she wishes, without danger. She perceives the universal harmony, even amid great pain, because she has found peace in her heart.~~

Scan from Karlfried Graf Dürckheim’s exceptional book: Hara: The Vital Center of Man.
“If you abandon intention, the birds will not be suspicious. If your intention is stirred, the birds will fly away. Why? This is because you can fool the form but not the spirit. Even if your spirit moves slightly, the other’s spirit will know. This is the way things are: nothing can be hidden from the spirit. The sage knows that she and the ten thousand things are connected. Therefore, she always abandons her intention and keeps her mind empty.”
Eva Wong, who wrote “Nourishing the Essence of Life” .
She is a lineage holder of Daoist Qigong (Xiantianwujimen) and teaches through the Shambhala Center.
